Dudley -- It is with profound sorrow and grief that we the management and staff of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home join with the Broadhurst and connected families to announce the earthly transition of Ms. Dianne Broadhurst, 60, who departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at the Wayne UNC Health Care, Goldsboro, NC. On May 24, 1960, Dianne Odom Broadhurst was born to Virginia Odom Matthews and the late Artie Odom Sr. Dianne attended pender county public school until she graduated Dianne worked many years as a CNA taking care of so many senior and disabled residents Dianne met the love of her life Harry Battle. The love between them was so unconditional you felt the love they had for each other when you were in their presence They were best friends. You never seen him without her she loved him until her last breath. Dianne favorite greeting was "Hello Sweetie" she loved to cook and was famous for her home made cakes her door was always open to everyone. She was preceded in death by her father Artie Odom Sr; (Brother) Melvin Odom; 1 sister: Christine Wiliiams and (Son) Seneca Odom. Dianne leaves to cherish her memory (Husband) Harry Battle; (Mother) Virginia Odom Matthews; (Son) Robert Hayes Jr. four Grandchildren: Faith Dowe; Zaylah Hayes; Robert Hayes 3rd; and Zaebiah Hayes Five sisters; Geraldine Johnson of High point, NC; Betty Bowden (Phillip) Atlanta; Yvonne Sidburry Wilmington, NC; Shirley Robinson, Raleigh, NC; and Audrey Odom (Robert) Durham, NC.
