Elder Albert Lee Broadhurst's Obituary
"I have a fought a good fight , I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Tim. 4:7 Elder Albert Broadhurst, better known as "Fat Rat" was born October 1, 1950 to the late Albert Scott and Ethleen Hill Broadhurst.He was preceeded in death by his parents, a brother, and his grandparents.Elder Broadhurst grew up in the Best Grove Community of Wayne County. He attended school in Wayne County and graduated from Central High School in 1968. He served as a faithful Elder with Voice of Hope Ministries, Inc. in Norfolk, Virginia, under the leadership of Bishop Allan A. Broom, Sr., and also with Burning Bush United Holy Church, Faison, North Carolina, under the leadership of Elder Beulah Pickett. He is survived by 3 daughters; Pam (Michael) Pelham of Bennettsville, South Carolina, Brenda (Kendrick) Bostic of Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Tennisha (Quesean) Myrick. 6 grandchildren,; 4 brothers; William Broadhurst, Jerry Broadhurst of Goldsboro,NC, Charles Broadhurst of Columbia,SC, Raymond Broadhurst of Durham,NC , 4 sisters; Gwendolyn (Delton) Thompson, Ann (Gregory) Jones, Nina (Elmer) Lee, and Thelma Crawford, all of Goldsboro, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
