Elder (Mother) Coretha Bogier's Obituary
Goldsboro - The staff and Management of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors join with the Bogier and connected families to announce the earthly transition of Mother Coretha Bogier,76, of Goldsboro, NC.
Mother Coretha Bogier was born August 27, 1945, in Greenwood, Florida to the Late Mayizia Pollock and Robert Deacons.
After completing High School, Mother Bogier moved to New York where she met the Late Apostle Lawrence Bogier. They married on January 21, 1965. Shortly afterward, they both submitted their lives to the Lord.
Mother Coretha Bogier began her service to the Lord along with her husband under the leadership of the late Apostle Johnnie Washington. It was in the early 1970s that they joined the Tabernacle of Prayer for All People, Inc. Mother served in several capacities: Usher Board, Mission Department, Street Team, Prayer Warrior Team & Youth Department.
In 1976, God moved the family to Goldsboro NC. It was at this time that she began the journey of learning how to be a Pastor's Wife after God's heart. It wasn't easy but she has always said, "Prayer Brought Me Through". As a Pastor's wife, she was also the Head of the Usher Board. Oftentimes visitors would ask her, can you show me the Pastor's wife? She would smile & say, "you're looking at her". She also served as Assistant Registrar of the Bible Institute & Tabernacle Christian University, Bereavement Committee, Mission Department, Advisor to the Youth Department, and Chairman of the Women's Department, just to name a few. She traveled the world with her husband spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Mother Bogier equipped herself with the Word of God through her studies at Tabernacle Christian University & Jameson Bible College from which she earned a Doctorate of Theology Degree.
Mother Bogier enjoyed traveling, shopping, and spending time with family & friends.
She was the First Lady of the Original Tabernacle of Prayer For All People, Goldsboro NC for 38 years. Mother lived a life dedicated to God. She was a woman of great faith. She was a prayer warrior and walked in integrity and excellence.
Mother was also a certified nurses' assistant. It was a career she truly loved bc she enjoyed caring for others.
On Friday, April 8, 2022, at 4:58 am, Mother slept away into glory. Her bedroom was filled with the peace of God and a sweet aroma. She is preceded in death by her husband, the Late Apostle Lawrence Bogier, and son, Lawrence Bogier, III. She leaves to cherish her memory; two daughters, Stephanie (Melvin) Jones, and Jeanette (Ronnie) Hardie; two sisters, Annie Baker and Martha Peterson; one brother, Horace Williams; two brothers-in-law, Apostle Willie (Patsy) Bogier and Bishop Eddie (Rose) Bogier; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Boyd and Annie Phillips; nine grandchildren, seven great-grands; a host of nieces, nephews and a dedicated friend and prayer partner, Sis. Mary Moore.
