The management and staff of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home extends its sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Eugene Best,71, who passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Wayne UNC Health Care, Goldsboro, NC.
Mr. Eugene Best, 71, was born to James Best and Priscilla Waters Best on March 25, 1948, in Wayne County, NC.
He received his formal education at Central High School in Goldsboro, NC in what is formally known as the Central Heights area of Wayne County.
He would further his education at Wayne Community College and later enlist into the US Air Force in August of 1967.
He was later employed by Ernest Glass company and would later become self - employed as a handyman and auto mechanic. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Priscilla Waters Best; four brothers: 1 sibling who died at birth; James Best, Jr, Charles Best, and Theodore Best
He leaves to cherish his precious memories three daughters: Sabrina Lee, Salena Lee both of Goldsboro,
NC, and Waikiki Joseph of Durham, NC; two sons: Kelvin Lee of Goldsboro, NC, and Malik Joseph of Durham, NC, two sisters: Margaretta Johnson-Player (Night) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Elvira Best Hill of Goldsboro, NC; seven grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; one special friend Tony Howell and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
