Mr. Jerry Harris' Obituary
Goldsboro - With Profound sorrow and empathy, the Staff and Management of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors humbly announce the transition of Mr. Jerry Harris. Mr. Harris passed away on September 11, 2024.
Jerry Harris was born November 23, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Vivian Harris. Jerry lived most of his life in Brooklyn, NY, and later moved to Goldsboro, North Carolina, where he lived for 20
years until his death.
Jerry attended school in Brooklyn, NY. He worked at the Playboy Barbershop in Brooklyn as a master
barber. Jerry enjoyed cutting hair for his customers, friends, and family.
Jerry was also a chef and found joy in cooking for a vast variety of people. He worked at the Penn Continental in New York City as the
lead chef and worked at several hotels and restaurants. Jerry loved cooking, and he was well-known for
his culinary skills.
Jerry loved to listen to music, and Will Downing was his favorite musician. Jerry was a very neat dresser. He loved and took pride in his sweaters and suits.
Jerry Harris departed this life on September 11, 2024. His death left an emptiness in the hearts of those
who loved him. Jerry will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Harris, his two sisters, Rosa Harris and Shirley Harris-Nobles, and his three brothers, Harold, Hercules, and Veron Harris.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Tanya Ditzen and Chantal Collins, both of Brooklyn, NY, and one son, Charles Harris, of Brooklyn, NY. His brother, Nelson Harris. Three grandchildren: Shaquira Collins, Neah Gray, and Joshua Gray. His nephews are Nelson Jr., Kevin, and Amar Harris, and his niece is Tierra Harris. His nieces and nephews are Deborah, Brenda, Gary, Jennifer, and Shelton Nobles. And a host of cousins, family, and friends.
Memorial Services will be observed on Thursday at 1 PM at Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors Chapel
