Ms. Judy Carol Thompson Joyner's Obituary
Goldsboro- The staff and Management of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors have the difficult task of sharing the untimely passing of Ms. Judy Carol Thompson Joyner, 63, of Goldsboro, NC.
Ms. Joyner transitioned at the Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC.
Ms. Judy Carol Thompson was born in Wayne County to Mr. James L. Thompson and Mrs. Mary L. Thompson. Ms. Judy attended Wayne County Public Schools and graduated from Goldsboro High School.
Judy was passionate about working at the Walker Allen Law firm, where she was appreciated and loved by the entire staff. She also enjoyed her time at Parks and Recreation, where she recently retired, helping people, laughing, joking, and enjoying family and friends. She loves to eat, watch YouTube, play solitaire, and Candy Crush. Her favorite sayings are "I'm different, and "I don't know what you're on, but it's not sense."
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James Thompson, and Mary L. Thompson; a son, Sequellas Thompson; and a niece, Vanisha Thompson. She also mourned the loss of three brothers — Donald Ray Thompson, Jeffrey Thompson, and Marvin Thompson — as well as her great-nephew, Jonathan O'Neal, and great-niece, Te'Asia Phillips.
Her memories will be fondly cherished by her daughter, Latasha Thompson; four granddaughters, Tytiana Thompson, Jalia Thompson-Smith, Tashiya Thompson of Goldsboro, and Shiyon Thompson of Texas; four grandsons, Kweli Thompson, Marcus Thompson of Goldsboro, Trequan Barnes of Texas, and Tyquellas Thompson of Goldsboro.
Additional surviving family members include three sisters, Barbara Thompson, Linda Thompson, and Sharon Thompson; two brothers, James Thompson and Jimmy Thompson (Jackie), all of Goldsboro; seven great-grandchildren, Amina Thompson, Amir Thompson, Amias Thompson, Ja'liyah Thompson, Ta'liyah Thompson, Zimari Jaire Thompson, and De'Lani Rae Perry-Thompson, all of Goldsboro; a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, relatives, and friends.
