Goldsboro - The management and staff of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home extends its sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Larry Barnes, 49 who passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.
Larry Barnes the son of the late Odell and Clara Barnes, was born on August 30, 1970, in Fremont, NC. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Larry and his twin brother Gary spent their early years in New Jersey with their Uncle Melvin, Aunt Barabra, and cousin Carlin. They added lots of love, excitement, and happiness to this household. They attended elementary school in New Jersey and excelled very well in their studies. They were reunited with their mother and family in Goldsboro, NC in 1979.
Larry was preceded in death by two of his brothers: Frankie Lee and Odell, Jr.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories: seven siblings: Ronnie Levi of Goldsboro, NC, Steve of Raleigh, NC, James Edward (Porter) of Goldsboro, NC, Gregory Scott (Kim) of Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, Anthony Leon (Roberta) of Goldsboro, NC, Gary of Houston, TX, and Shawn of Greensboro, NC; two aunts, Jane Barnes-Gavin of New Bern, NC, and Blondie Robbins (Linwood) of Goldsboro, NC; one uncle; Melvin Barnes (Barbara) of Houston, TX, one uncle-in-law: William Ed Holmes of Pikeville, NC, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family relatives, and friends.
We, the Barnes family give special recognition to Larry's aunt Jane Barnes - Gavin and Uncle William Ed Holmes for their support and attentiveness shown to Larry in his time of need.
The family will miss you dearly Larry, you brought so much love, joy, and fun to our lives.
