Mr. Albert Worrells, Jr.'s Obituary
Goldsboro - The Management and Staff of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home extend its sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Albert Worrells, Jr., 67, who transitioned on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at the Genesis Health Care Center of Mt. Olive, NC.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Reverend Albert Worrells, Jr., the eldest son of the late Deacon Albert and Mother Doris Worrells was born on January 23, 1953 in Wayne County, NC. He answered the Master's call from this life to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Genesis Rehabilitation Center, Mt. Olive, NC having fulfilled the acceptable Will of God for his life here with us.
He was educated by the Wayne County Public Schools graduating from Goldsboro High School in 1973. Reverend Worrells was employed by Wayne County Public Schools for 30 years. He was baptized at an early age and was a faithful and active member of Darden Chapel OFWB Church for many years. While at Darden Chapel, he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He served as President of the Gospel Choir and was later called to serve as a deacon after which the Lord had a higher calling to the ministry for him to fulfil. Reverend Worrells later joined Gospel Revival Uplift Ministry and served faithfully as the Sunday School Superintendent as well as a Minister of the Gospel until his health began to fail. He was a man of great faith and believed in the power of prayer. He was an ambassador for the Lord who served and loved the Lord with all his heart. He had a gentle spirit full of love for his family. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. If you needed him, he was there lending a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and grandson. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife of 36 years Reverend Camelia Davis Worrells. Two children: Sherrita Worrells of Goldsboro, NC, Minister Antonio (JoAnna) Worrells, Greenwood, SC. One granddaughter, Regene Worrells. Three sisters: Doris Coley and Elaine Worrells of Goldsboro, NC and Minister Felicia (Calvin) Carmon of Snellville, GA. Three brothers; Pastor Anthony (Darlene) Worrells of Goldsboro, NC, Bishop Joseph (Pamela) Worrells of Apple Valley, MN and Michael (Yvette) Worrells of Upper Marlboro, MD. Six aunts, Five uncles. Three sisters-in-law, Two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
