Mt. Olive - The staff and Management of Williams & Ashford Funeral DIrectors join with the Joyner and connected families to announce the earthly departure of Mr. James Earl Joyner, 68, of Mt. Olive, NC. Mr. Joyner transitioned on Tuesday, at the Wayne UNC Health Care, Goldsboro, NC. James Earl Joyner was born to the late Ella Lassiter Joyner and James Thomas Joyner on 3/25/1953. On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, he departed this earthly life at @Wayne UNC Hospital. James Joyner attended Princeton High School. After high school, James served four years in the United States Army. Later, James worked with Neil Weeks Construction Co., which was later changed to Performance East, where James worked for over 20 years. Known as "Earl the Pearl," "Waggador" and "Squirrel"Earl enjoyed a good laugh, a good conversation, and a good song and dance. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis Johnson, and brother Lee Jr.Lassiter. He leaves to cherish his wife of 35 years, Gladys Joyner, three children, Saniya Streeter Morris(Phillip)Goldsboro NC, Keymo Joyner(Christina)Goldsboro Makeda Joyner, Greensboro NC, two special nieces, Shaquita Parks and Laquita Streeter, two sisters Peggy Bryant (Washington DC) Linda Joyner(Kenly NC)one brother Billy Joyner(WashingtonD.C.), two aunts Margaret Cannon (Smithfield) Beulah Jones(Washington D.C.)9 grandchildren Jaimond, Nehemiah, Maurice, Denise Keymauri, Dillion, Phillip, Jerrell, and Arianna(snoot noot). A host of nieces and nephews, other loving relatives, and friends. Services of Integrity and Compassionate Care have been entrusted to Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors and Cremations, LLC.
