Johnathan O'neal, Jr. was born on February 15, 1990 to Joyce Thompson and Johnathon O'Neal, Sr. Lil John as he was affectionately known as was educated in the Wayne County Public Schools system and was a graduated of Goldsboro High School in the class of 2007.
He enjoyed working on cars, writing books, art and drawing, lifting weights and music. He was a self employed business man.
He was predeceased by grandmother Joyce Kay O'neal and great great grandmother Dorothy Jane Harris and his maternal great great grandmother Mary Lou Thompson and great great grandfather James Lee Thompson, Sr, and one great uncle Donald Ray Thompson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother; Joyce Thompson McKinney and his father Johnathan O'neal, Sr., and stepfather John Earl McKinney, Jr.; his children: Noah Gray, Josiah Mekhi O'neal, his siblings: Shawntanna Thompson, Montrell O'neal, Keoshia O'neal, Jeffrey Franklin, Jr., John Earl McKinney, III, Javeyon McKinney, Jacquel T. O'neal, Johnathan O'neal, Joshua O'neal, Deja M. O'neal, Zayrian O'neal, his grandparents: Joseph O'neal, Sr, and Barbara Thompson Butler, Elmer Lee; his uncles: Joseph O'neal, James Lee Thompson, Jr, Jimmy Reed Thompson (Jackie), Jeffrey Leo Thompson, Marvin Earl Thompson Michael Thompson, Samuel Thompson; his aunts: Felicia Thompson, , Mary Bell, Shonda Thompson, , Linda Joyce Thompson, Judy Carrol Thompson, Sharon Faye Thompson, Elizabeth O'neal, Geana O'neal; cousins: Darryl Williams, Vonterio Best, Solomeesha O'neal, Timothy O'neal, Zaccheus O'neal, Shekena Phillips; two special cousins: Tiffany Thompson and Daniel Thompson as well as a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
