Mr. Larry Coley's Obituary
Fremont- The Management and Staff of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors joins with the Coley and connected families to announce the transition of Mr. Larry Coley, 70, who passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at his home in Fremont, NC.
Larry D Coley, Sr., nicknamed "Rye" was born on July 18, 1952, to the late John R. Coley and the late Essie Mae Best Coley. He worked many years at Kemp Furniture of Goldsboro and Cary Manor in Cary, NC. Larry moved to Ct. and became a committed Deacon to Evening Star Holiness Church Fellowship Ministries. In 2017 he returned home to his family church St. James Church of Christ. Larry was a Gentle Giant who loved his family and made sure the family knew just how much he cared. He enjoyed being outside, cleaning his car, and making small talk with any and everyone he met. We will all truly miss him and cherish each memory that we have together. His motto was that "NO MATTER WHAT, I'm GOING TO PRAISE HIM IN THE MIDDLE OF IT"!!!
He was preceded in death by one brother Johnnie Coley of Fremont, NC, and One brother-in-law Daryl D (Laura) Hinton Sr of New Haven, Ct.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 32 years Sandra L Hinton Coley of Smithfield, NC; Four sons: Larry D (Gloria Perez) Coley, Jr., John C (Angela) Thompson of Smithfield, NC; Joseph R (Kandace) Thompson, Sr, and Eddie O Thompson, Sr all of Raleigh, NC.; a daughter Danielle Best of Goldsboro, NC; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters: Margret A Coley, Lucille (Jim)Jones, and Christine Coley, all of Fremont, NC; Three brothers: Charles Coley of Goldsboro, NC, James Coley of Pikeville, NC, Joseph Coley of Raleigh, NC; a special niece Annie Lane of Fremont, NC; special Aunt Ester Jean; 4 brothers-in-law: John E (Shirley) Hinton, Jeffrey D (Linda) Hinton Sr., Donald R (Catherine) Hinton, and Cecil A (Sharon) Hinton Sr; four sisters-in-law: Brenda C Murray, Mattie J (Arthur) King, Angeanette I Hinton all of NC; Lillie C (Melvin) Ruan of Florida.
