Mr. Perry Artis' Obituary
Goldsboro - In profound sorrow we the management of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home & Cremations announce the earthly transition of Mr. Perry Artis, 59, who passed away at his home surrounded by those he loved.
On January 18, 1962, Perry Artis was born in Goldsboro, NC, to the late Richard Artis, Jr. and Alma Taylor Artis. He departed this life on August 15, 2021, at the Brian Center in Goldsboro, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 nephew.
He received his education in the Wayne County Public Schools and grew up in the Lincoln Holmes Community his entire life. He would remain in the same unit at 913 B Hugh St. until his health declined in June.
Perry was known for walking back and forth to Beestown store to get things for folks on the block, such as beer and cigarettes. But, before he left this world, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
He is survived by his sister, Thelma Broadhurst of Goldsboro, NC; brother, Raymond Broadhurst of Durham, NC, brother Jerry Broadhurst of Goldsboro, NC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a special cousin Donna Davis, special friends Mrs. Frances Moore, John Davis, Tootsie, Reggie, and Von and friends from the 800 Hugh St block.
