Mrs. Lanilta Denise Jones' Obituary
The Management and Staff of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors join with the Dixon and Jones families to announce the earthly departure of Mrs. Lanilta Denise Dixon Jones, 63, of Goldsboro, NC.
Mrs. Lanilta Denise Dixon Jones was born to the late Elbert Harrison Smith, Sr. and Ruby Mae Dixon, in Duplin, County, NC. She received her formal education in the Duplin County Schools and was a 1977 graduate of James Kenan High School
She met her husband of 42 years, Tyrone Jones, in April of 1980 and the two married on May 21, 1981; to this union 5 children were raised.
She began her career at the Mt. Olive Sportswear, Excel - Linde, and after completing her degree at Wayne Community College in Office Assistant Technology and Medical Billing and Coding she began working for the college as an Academic Skills Teacher, she would remain at Wayne Community College until her health would no longer let her serve.
She was an active member of the Tabernacle of Prayer for All People where the two have been members since 1984. She served on the choir, hospitality committee, missionary board, ordained minister, and assisted with office administration as an office assistant.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-daughter Sharonda Boone; and a brother William Dixon.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Tyrone Jones of the home; a daughter; Katrina Dixon; a step-daughter Yolanda Jordan; two sons; DeAngelo Jones, and Reuben Jones; grandchildren: Zy'Keah Jones, Ariyana Jones, Akya Martin; a great-granddaughter Lunaa Jones, her siblings: Kathy Berry, Kim Smith Cooper (Charles), Elbert Smith, Jr. (Jackie), Carol Johnson (Lee), Jeffrey Smith (Mary), Jerome Smith (Mandel); a special Mom Gloria Allen; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.
