Mrs. Leatrice Jean Woodard's Obituary
Fremont -- It is with profound sorrow and grief that we the management and staff of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home join with the Woodard and connected families to announce the earthly transition of Mrs. Leatrice Jean Woodard ,76, years of age. Ms. Woodard entered into eternal rest at the Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Leatrice Jean Bass Woodard was born on January 20, 1945, in Wayne County, NC, to the late William Bass, Sr., and Laurena Hicks Bass Sauls. Leatrice departed her life on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse James Woodard; one son James Kevin Woodard ; three sisters; Helen Jones, Lessie Artis, and Belinda Joyner; two brothers; William Bass, Jr., and Julius Lee Sauls.
Leatrice received her formal education in the Wayne County Public Schools. She worked faithfully in education for over ten years. She also worked in the Health Field for many years. She obtained an Associate Degree in Human Resources at Wayne Community College.
She was a member of Latter-Day Saints and an honorary member of Gospel Tabernacle in Fremont, NC. She loved fishing, gardening, cooking, singing, crafts, and writing. She loved spending time with family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her daughter Andrea Faison (James) of Goldsboro, NC; her son Jesse James Woodard, Jr. (Victoria) of Pikeville, NC; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one sister Dalphine Bynum (Freddie) of Stantonsburg, NC; three brothers: Howard Lee Bass of Goldsboro, NC, James Earl Bass (Cynthia) of Goldsboro, NC, and Ricky Bass of Angier, NC. Special nieces which whom she raised; Ashley Barnes of Goldsboro, NC, and Brittanie Rice (Rashaan) of Goldsboro, NC; Special friends: Evelyn King of Goldsboro, NC; Kathy Collins of Goldsboro, NC; Doris Farmer of Pikeville, NC, and Deloris Bunche of Goldsboro, NC, and host of other relatives and friends
