Mrs. Mary Grantham's Obituary
The management and staff of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home extend its sincerest condolences to the family of Mrs. Mary Grantham, 81, who transitioned on Monday, March 30, 2020, at the UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.
Mary Louis Crawford Grantham was born in Pikeville, NC on October 27, 1938 to the late Cluadie Lane Crawford and Hattie Carrie Keel. Mary Louis Crawford Grantham journey on earth ended on March 30, 2020 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.
Mary attended school as much as she could at Friendship Elementary School in Fremont, NC. Mary was employed at the State Nursery for several years and she was employed and retired from Borden Manufacturing of Goldsboro of over 20 years. Mary was also a faithful member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church for more than 50 years where she served as the Pastor's Aide, The Mother Board, The Mission Board, and in the Choir.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Henry G. Grantham, three brothers Chaudie Crawford Jr, David L. Crawford, Preston Crawford, two sisters Francis Davis, Martha Saul, and one grandson Corry L. Grantham.
Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories six daughters, Minister Hattie Rasberry (Joe), Prophetess Edna G. Vaughn (Kenneth), Mary C. Lewis (Robert), Ella G. Cox (Roger), Gloria G. Moore (Ray), Antoinette Saul, four sons, Henry R. Grantham, Lavoris G. Grantham (April), Mantrel D. Grantham, Jeffery Saul, four brothers, Dr. Donald Well (Brenda), Elder James Crawford, James E. Crawford, Elvis Keel, five sisters: Eldress Lavern Cox (Ardell), Minister Alice McClary, Sheron A. Crawford, Shelia Wynn (Henry) and Brenda Keel, 42 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 4 great- great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
