Goldsboro - With Sincere Compassion and Understanding, we, the Management and staff of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors, join with the Phillips and connected families to announce the earthly transition of Ms. Te'Asia Maniya Phillips, 16, of Goldsboro, NC. Ms. Phillips transitioned on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Methodist Hospital, San Antoni, TX.
Ms. Te'Asia Maniya Phillips was born in Wayne County on August 14, 2004, to Shekena Phillips and Timothese Phillips.
Te'Asia attended Wayne County Public Schools and attended her last year at Eastern Wayne High School.
Te'Asia's love for her family was unparalleled, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. She was particularly protective of her mother and her nephew, a testament to her caring nature. Her love for singing, playing, dancing, and shopping was only surpassed by her love for life. Her favorite song, Heaven and Halo by Beyonce, was a reflection of her vibrant spirit. She also had a strong affinity for seafood and was known for her assertive, 'boss-like' demeanor.
Te'Asia was preceded in death by several beloved family members, including her maternal grandparents, Mary Lou Thompson and James Lee Thompson, her paternal grandfather, Lankford Phillips, and three uncles, Donald Ray Thompson, Jefferey Thompson, and Marvin Thompson, as well as one cousin, Jonathan O'Neal. Their absence is deeply felt and their memory cherished.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Shekena Phillips, of the home; her father, Timothese Phillips of Norfolk, VA; three brothers, Naz'Jon Thompson of Rockingham, NC, Daquan Thompson of Goldsboro, NC, Joshua Phillips of the home; one nephew Nae'Vion Thompson of Goldsboro, NC, two grandmothers, Sharon Thompson of Goldsboro, NC, Shirley Spencer of Norfolk, VA, one great grandmother, Elizabeth Spencer of Norfolk, VA, five aunts Lekicia Thompson, Shenika Hailey, Shalana Hailey all of Goldsboro, NC, Jamila Hailey of Rockingham, NC, Sherlita Phillips Graham (Bennie III) of Norfolk, VA, four special cousins, Enilah Darden, Jakayla Darden, Amyiah Thompson all of Rockingham, NC, Tyicsha Deans of Goldsboro, NC. She also leaves a host of cousins, friends, and other relatives.
