Mr. Sequellas Thompson's Obituary
Goldsboro- With profound sorrow and empathy, the management and staff of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors join with the Thompson and connected families to announce the earthly departure of Mr. Sequellas Thompson, 46. Mr. Thompson transitioned at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Sequellas Montrel Thompson affectionately known as “Boo Bug” was born on February 5, 1978, to Mr. Wade Reid and Ms. Judy Thompson. Sequellas attended Wayne County Public Schools and graduated from Goldsboro High School. He was a faithful employee of Sonic Drive-Thru for many years and his last place of employment was Unifirst.
Sequellas was passionate about watching TV, cooking, laughing, joking, and mimicking Donald Duck. He loved to sing, often replacing the actual lyrics with "imma, imma, imma" when he didn’t know the words. A dedicated sports fan, he was especially fond of the Dallas Cowboys. Some of his favorite sayings included "Fa Sho Daddy," "You Dig," and "You One Smart Cookie."
Sequellas was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary Lou Thompson and James Lee Thompson, and his paternal grandparents, Pernelia Reid and Solomon Reid. He also mourned the loss of three uncles—Donald Ray Thompson, Jefferey Thompson, and Marvin Thompson—as well as two cousins, Jonathan Oneal and Te’Asia Phillips.
His memory will be considered fond and forever cherished by his mother, Judy Joyner; his father, Wade Reid; two sisters, Latasha Thompson (Eric) of Goldsboro and Diamond Reid of Kinston; three daughters, Tytiana Thompson of Goldsboro, Jalia Thompson-Smith of Goldsboro, and Shiyon Thompson of Texas; two sons, Trequan Barnes of Texas and Tyquellas Thompson of Goldsboro; three grandchildren: Amina Thompson, Amir Thompson, and Amias Thompson, all of Goldsboro.
Additional surviving family members include six uncles—Jimmy Thompson (Jackie) of Goldsboro, James Thompson of Goldsboro, Elbert Reid of New Jersey, Mark Reid of Delaware, David Reid of Goldsboro, and Robert Applewhite of Kentucky—along with three aunts, Linda Thompson, Sharon Thompson, and Barbara Thompson. Sequellas also leaves behind three special cousins, Michael Thompson (caretaker), Felicia Thompson, and Lekicia Thompson, Shonda Thompson, Tavares Thompson, Jamila Hailey, and Shenika Hailey, a special aunt, Linda Thompson, a special uncle, Jimmy Thompson, niece Tashiya Thompson, nephews: Kweli Thompson, and Marcus Thompson, two close friends, Angel White and Shanita Smith, and host of other relatives and friends.
