With profound sorrow and empathy, the staff and management of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors join with the Harper and connected families to announce the earthly departure of Mrs. Vicky Regina Harper, 66.
Mrs. Harper transitioned at the UNC Wayne Hospital, Goldsboro, NC
Vicky Regina (Davis) Harper was born in Duplin County on August 29, 1958, to the late Frank and Annie Elizabeth Davis. Mrs. Harper left earth for her heavenly home on May 16, 2025, at approximately 9:15 am at Wayne UNC Healthcare.
Mrs. Harper attended Duplin and Wayne County Schools and graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1976. She was a 1995 graduate of Wayne Community College with a certificate in Effective Teacher Training. Mrs. Harper served for several years and was employed at Wayne County Public Schools as a substitute teacher and a bus driver, where she left her loving mark on students. She was a faithful member of the Deliverance Temple Revival Center Church, Dudley, NC.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, friend, spiritual leader, and confidant with great love and a heart of gold for people. She treasured family, and if you were around long enough, you became one of her own. She had many adopted sons, daughters, and grandchildren, but she treated them like her own. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, taking vacations to visit family, cruises, and watching her favorite old-time sitcoms. Above all else, she loved serving GOD.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Reginald Donell Harper Sr, her mother, Annie Elizabeth Davis, her father, Frank Davis, her sisters, Eldress Joan King and Pastor Shirley Pigford, her brother, Frankie L. Davis, and her grandson, Isaiah Henderson.
She leaves to cherish her memories; two sons, David Harper of the home, Reginald D. Harper, Jr. of Greenville, SC.; two daughters, Jessica A. Harper of Goldsboro, NC; Brittnay A. Harper and a stepson, Shamar K. Haigler of Dudley, NC; two sisters, Rev. Camelia Worrells, and Judy Davis; one brother, Charles Hicks; twelve grandchildren: Jaquain Harper, Jakoree Harper, Aliayah Harper, Jayla Harper-Underhill, Alake Harper, Aniyah Harper, Zaiden Harper, Zeniyah Harper, Donell Harper, Tumani Harper, Jayden Harper and Brianna Harper, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
