It is with sadness that we announce the earthly departure of Ms. Wanda Dean Barnes, 58, of Mt. Olive, NC; who passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Wanda D. Garner Barnes departed this earthly life on October 31st, 2019 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center a long battle of illness.
She was born on March 25, 1961, in Goldsboro, NC; to Barbara Garner McMillian and Harold Stevens. She was a 1979 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. After completion she attended the United States Army and after her tenure in the Army she became a health care provider.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Barbara Garner McMillian and Harold Stevens as well as a special father Herman Garner.
She leaves to cherish her daughter; Tangela Hicks of Kinston, NC; one son: Akeem McKinnery off Dudley, NC, one brother: Herman Lamont Garner (Tiffany of Mt. Olive, NC; two sisters: Angela Stevens Robertson of Charleston, SC, Venita Stevens of Columbia, SC, and four grandchildren: Sentelle Leonard, Jaheim Best, Jaiquan Leonard, and Camari McKinney and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces, relatives and friends.
