The management and staff of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home extend its sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Willie Lee Hudson, Jr., 71, of Goldsboro, NC, who transitioned on Monday, May 11 2020 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center., Goldsboro, NC.
Willie Hudson was born on October 22,1948 to Willie and Rosa Joyner. Willie departed this life on May 11, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice. He was the second oldest child out of 9 children. He was affectionately known as "Bud". He was a 1967 graduate of Central High School. He was drafted into the military shortly after his graduation. After serving his military duties he returned to Goldsboro. He worked various jobs including Cherry Hospital and NC Corrections. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning food, fishing, hunting, photography, joking and conversing with family and friends. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge and a fishing club. He was reared in Thompson Chapel Church near the parkstown community. Most of this childhood was spent in the parkstown, hood swamp, saulston community. He was united in marriage for 20 years to Virginia Faircloth Hudson. He was also the proud parent of Teresha (Chelle) Penny.
He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Rosa Joyner Hudson, grandmother Cora Suggs Hudson, sisters Estelle Hudson Rouse, Sharon Hudson, brothers Eugene Hudson, grandson Safari Jordan
He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife Virginia Faircloth Hudson of the home. One child Teresha A. Penny of Lucama, NC; four step daughters Jennifer McClarin, Patricia Johnson, Lind Faye Boykin, Tonya McClarin; four step sons Curtis McClarin, Jerry McClarin, Eddie McClarin, Nelson McClarin, Larry Tyler; step mother Gertrude Hudson; six sisters Makeda Hudson Wyche of Goldsboro, NC, Vernese Rowe of Goldsboro, NC, Wanda Davis of La Grange, NC, Wilda Edwards of Goldsboro, NC, Karon Ward of Goldsboro, NC, Barbara Britt Williams (Dwight) of Austell, GA, Tiffany Coley of Raleigh, NC; four brothers Maurice Coley of Goldsboro, NC, Carlton Britt (Rosie) of Richmond, VA, Kenneth Britt (Sheila) of Richmond, VA, Anthony Britt (Penny) of Goldsboro, NC; one aunt Etta Becton of La Grange, NC; three grandchildren Alexus Penny, Raven Penny, Jaylen Penny; great grandchildren Dakota, Elijah, Josiah, Alayha, and Zymire. He is survived by a host of others relatives and friends.
