With Deepest Condolences to Elder Larry Cater, Family and Friends. Mother Sandra Moore.Prayers Up.

Our prayers are with the family and friends during this time from the Goldsboro Wayne Alumni Chapter of NC A&T. Our Aggie Sister Dr. Frances Ward-Johnson will be missed but has left a great legacy

Sending condolences on behalf of the 1983-85 NC A&T Register staff to the family and friends of fellow A&T Register Editor-in-Chief (1985-86) Dr. Frances Ward Johnson. We spent quality time together as English majors at NC A&T State University. We both had a love of writing and new experiences. Being writers for the college newspaper afforded us the opportunity to take our first ride on an airplane to a conference in Ohio and to spend six weekends the next summer exploring the city of Chicago as journalism fellows at Northwestern University. This was a big deal for us small town girls who loved the Lord and prayed to Him fervently through some of the city life experiences. Frances had strong leadership skills and did not back down from her views as a Black Christian woman. We are extremely proud of her accomplishment as a college dean. When we reunited a few years ago during COVID, we talked and laughed for hours about our college escapades. Rest in Aggie Heaven. God is pleased.

Words cannot describe my heart ache when hearing the news of Frances passing. I will miss her smile and the long conversations we had over the years about life. After much reflection, I realize that Frances transition to the lord, represents an opportunity to broadcast the extraordinary person she was and her many accomplishments. Frances was loved by so many people because of her beautiful heart and soul. Frances was the most dedicated educator I have witnessed in my 42 years of working in higher education. Frances changed the lives of countless number of students and was always loyal to her alma mater, NC A&T. Frances's life works were numerous, but her most important work was her love for her family, friends and people. So long my friend, I hope we meet down the road. "Love Todd K. Johnson".
