Fremont - The management and staff of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home extends its sincerest condolences to the family of Ms. Tanga Irene Jones Battle, 62, who passed away on Sunday at the Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC.
Tanga irene Jones - Battle was born on December 23, 1957, in Wayne County, NC to Athena Davis Jones and Lindberg "Short" Jones. This earthly angel took her rightful place in Heaven's ranks on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
She attended Wayne County Public Schools. Her life revolved around her son and granddaughter.
Tanga was always taking care of others and putting their needs and wants before her own. She found joy in making others laugh and smile. She was an awesome person and was a true blessing to her family. Her wonderful smile, unselfish love for her family and genuine heart of gold will truly be missed.
She is predeceased by her husband, Nathaniel "Nate" Battle; her parents Athena Davis Jones & Lindberg "Short" Jones; a sister, Pamela Davis Harvey, and a brother, James Thomas Edwards.
Tanga leaves to cherish her precious memories to her son Delarcus Tirrell (Venita) of Charlotte, NC; grandughters, Tanesha Lamb of Fremont, NC & Nyosha McManus of Charlotte, NC; step-son Calvin Artis of Goldsboro, NC; stepdaughter, Kim Hall Worthington of Goldsboro, NC; brother Sylvester (Lucy) Wilson of Smithfield, NC; brother - in - laws, William H. Harvey of Goldsboro, NC and Michael Lewis of Pikeville, NC; sister - in - laws, Paula McCullough of Pikeville, NC; and Jettye Lewis of Charlotte, NC; a special nephew, Dedric (Glenda) Harvey of Goldsboro, NC; two nieces: Lakeshia (Willie) Martin of Fayetteville, NC and Kim Davis of Fremont, NC; a special friend; Christopher Boddie of Goldsboro, NC; two aunts: Louetta G. Applewhite of Fremont, NC; and Daphne M. Lewis of Wilson, NC; and an uncle Bobbie C. Sears of Washington, DC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
